One thing I've learned: there's never a perfect time to start.
Instead I think it's about finding pockets of time where it will be the least difficult or when you feel like, "Well, I guess I'm as prepared as I'm going to be, so...".
I've been waiting for the perfect time to start a free weekly newsletter. I've waited months.
This morning, a little voice reminded me: The perfect time doesn’t exist, but pockets do.
Today is a pocket. Today is a start.

Free Weekly Newsletter
Next week, I am releasing the first issue of “Healthy” is a Feeling, a free weekly newsletter via Substack.
Why a newsletter?
I have never considered myself a video content creator, nor do I want to be. I enjoy writing; I enjoy researching behind a computer screen. I enjoy coaching - helping clients through the screen. Writing and working directly with people is where I feel most natural.
I will still create informative video content, but it limits my ability to cover broader topics within health and fitness - and to do it in a more timely manner.
Also... censorship is a serious issue, algorithms niche you, and video content creation is exhausting for me and my nervous system. I can infodump about all sorts of things related to health, wellbeing, body mechanics and anatomy, but once you put bright lights and a camera on me, everything feels pressured, rushed, and unnatural. And I won’t even get started on how painful editing is - both literally for my body and figuratively for my ADHD brain.
The newsletter - and Substack in general - will be a way for me to continue helping and sharing with the ability to expand on the topics I talk about, as well as how often and in-depth.
"Healthy" is a Feeling
Think of this as your socially conscious, non-toxic health & wellbeing resource for atypical brains and bodies.
This is a safe space where you’ll never have to worry about toxic health and fitness advice while providing tons of information and tips that are relevant to more than the “mainstream” and, most importantly, rooted in helping you feel safer and more comfortable in your body.
Some things you can expect to find in "Healthy" is a Feeling:
Relevant health, social, political commentary
Information, articles, other things of interest
Hypermobile and beginner workouts
Red flags and safety information for dangerous health and fitness pipelines
Q&A section (once we get enough people to do the Q part so I can do the A part!)
I'm going to try to post a bit on Substack in the “notes” section and am looking forward to getting enough of us together to start using the chat feature, but my primary focus there will be the weekly newsletter.
I hope you find this helpful and cannot wait to get started.
Make sure you subscribe before July 2nd when the first issue will drop!
